“Chair-ish” Wentzville @ Wentzville Days Fair & Music Festival

WHEN IS A CHAIR NOT A CHAIR?
WHEN IT’S A PIECE OF ART!

From our President, Diane Ransom:

Thank you, grazie, merci beaucoup, danke, mahalo, gracias, and all of the other ways to say how much we appreciate all that the members of the Arts Council, the Child Center, and family and friends did to make our day at the Wentzville Days Fair & Music Rock Festival the success that it was. At the very top of the list goes Calise Rae who was the brains, designer, and “doer” of things that transpired yesterday. She has been a force to reckon with in every detail of the event. Thank you to Terri Harrell who stepped right up from the beginning to assist in everything that needed “assisting”. Terri is already a very busy, involved lady, but she always said “yes” in all things requested of her. Thank you to Crystal Wing for taking on the chair project for her art classes at Timberland High School. The chairs made so many people happy yesterday. “The Universe” chair was won by a dad who was going to give it to his still very young son who points to the sky and says “moon”!

Thank you to all of you who shared most of your day on the event site doing all of the things that needed to be attended to: Peggy Meyer, Twig Loughry, Mary Owens, Heather Woodson, Sean Manning and family, Mary Tow, Leon Tow, and Patrick Nolan. Greg Roth has been such a special help. Thanks to Greg we had the use of a golf cart from his employer, TNT Golf Cart and Motorsports. He was available the day of the event and for so many other days leading up to it. Thank you for your generous offering of your time.

Of course, thank you to all of the artists, students, friends, and organizations that created the wonderful chairs that were the heart of this project. So much talent, so large a giving spirit!
Much gratitude to all of our sponsors who are already lining up for next year.

This post is becoming so long, I feel I need to stop here. Please know that even if you were not mentioned specifically, it doesn’t mean your gift was lost in the midst of all that was going on. It took all of the parts to complete the whole. Thank you for being willing.

These are just a few of the chairs that were auctioned/raffled off at the 1st annual Chair-ish Wentzville event.  All funds raised went to Crossroads Arts Council and the Child Center of Wentzville.
